The Interiors of Casa Flora

In Casa Flora, every piece of furniture is custom-made by Italian and local artisanal companies. More than 20 were involved in this project–and the entire design layout repurposes Venice’s imagery in contemporary forms.

The private bedrooms are designed to enhance privacy and people’s well-being. The characteristic colors of the lagoon, such as light pink, green, yellow and blue are the same used for this intimate part of the house. Tapestry is nuanced accordingly and side tables morph into original flower vases. Each room includes a dedicated reading area and a SPA with hammam. The wide restroom space is thought as a small private garden, a relaxing greenhouse, a seamless extension of the garden in front of Casa Flora.

The main entrance leads directly to the noble floor, which is also the social core of the house. A sort of domestic “campo” that can be used for dinners prepared in the adjacent kitchen by local chefs, or for work related meetings. Large windows allow the lagoon’s light to flood the space and three portals connect the different living environments, ensuring a fluid ensemble.

Elsa Bedroom

3 big windows offer a unique view of the Salute Church and the garden of the Hotel Flora. A large bed 200×200 which can turn into a sofa in the middle of the room, the shades of pink wrap up the guests in the typical Venetian warmth. The bedside tables are transformed into original fower vases. Large bathroom with a reading corner and hammam spa area, like a small private garden and a relaxing greenhouse. The dividing walls between the sleeping area and the bathroom recall the old fixtures of the greenhouses. The terrazzo sinks are double, with a working washbasin and the other one filled with indoor plants.

Living Room

A smooth and soft space completes the social environment of the house, connected to the sleeping area. A large three mullioned window offers a unique view of the garden of the Hotel Flora. Large sofa in green shades, reading corner and library collection of books on art and design selected by B-r-u-n-o, one of the most innovative and vibrant bookshops in Venice.

Alma BedRoom

Shades of yellow and brightness are the characteristics of this double room. Working station / desk and bedside tables which turn into original flower vases. Large bathroom with a reading corner and hammam spa area, like a small private garden and a relaxing greenhouse. The dividing walls between the sleeping area and the bathroom recall the old fixtures of the greenhouses. The terrazzo sinks are double, with a working washbasin and the other one filled with indoor plants.

Noah BedRoom

The daughter of the sea inspires the triple room in Casa Flora. Shades of blue for a calming environment, which gives a widespread sense of peace. Kitchen

In the middle of the house, the kitchen is meant to be a shared space, perfect for distinguished dinners and lunches. A large central island with a green stone top recalls the old interior of the lagoon houses. Two windows provide a view over the rooftops and the Venetian typical terraces. The light gives shape and softens the space. Room facilities: combination microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, induction hob.
